$10,000 PRIZE - ROO LAST MAN STANDING

1st Annual ROO ULTRA

Join us for our exciting inaugural annual race event!

ROO Ultra Last Man Standing follows the classic backyard ultra format.

• The course is a 4.2 mile loop.
• A new loop begins every hour on the hour.
• Runners must be in the starting corral before the bell for each loop.
• If a runner does not start the next loop, they are out of the race.
• The race continues until only one runner remains who completes a loop solo.

Each loop must be completed within the one hour time limit.

Any remaining time within the hour is used for rest, refueling, and recovery before the next loop begins.

ROO Last Man Standing – Inaugural Event Recap

The first annual ROO Last Man Standing at Dutchman Creek Events kicked off at 10:00 a.m. on August 1 and concluded at approximately 12:40 a.m. on August 3. After an incredible display of endurance and determination, Zach Sayre of Bozeman, Montana emerged as the champion, earning the $10,000 prize.

Zach outlasted a field of 40 competitors, completing 39 laps of the 4.2‑mile course for a total of 163.8 miles. The race might have stretched even farther if not for the extreme heat on Saturday, which tested every athlete to their limit.

Runner feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants praised the venue, course design, and stunning scenery—with many already planning their return for the 2027 event.

A huge thank‑you goes out to our partner Josh Morin of Buckaroo Run Club and his exceptional staff for delivering a seamless and highly successful inaugural race. We also extend our gratitude to all the athletes who traveled from across the country, including Florida, New York, California, Arizona, Washington, and more.

We’re proud to share that over half of this year’s competitors were from right here in Montana.

The professionalism, dedication, and respect shown by everyone involved made this event truly inspiring. What an outstanding group of athletes!
